THE SIGH OF THE WIND

The sigh of the wind!

Low, intermittent chords;

Drawn from corners of every kind,

Where feelings roamed abroad!

Chills rippled in dark places of dark souls;

Spectres, buffeted as billowing ghouls.

The sigh of the wind!

Cares carried in pockets broad!

Thoughts cocooned in the recesses of the mind;

Where tribulation and vexation are stored!

Breezes blow where cobwebs hang and howl;

Silken threads shiver and shimmer as coral.

The sigh of the wind!

For peace! Well being! Free will!

Wanders, momentarily attuned.

To pangs of lost loves and lonely ills!

Freedom, flexed, restrained by broken dreams;

The shattering image of unconnected scenes.

The sigh of the wind!

Remorse strung wistfully alone!

A death of pain crying beyond;

Beyond the feelings pale to the dawn!

The evening rush long drawn out;

Imprisoned by the margin of circling cloud!

The sigh of the wind!

Passion's echo from fictional walls;

Figments of reality, all too real.

Memories: Creator given, of open halls!

Decision's result, a fulfilment of fear;

The wind blows in spaces now clear!
