EDEN'S DESTROYER.

Humans are Nature's new masters!

Foolhardy comment! Human foe!

Challenger, for supremacy, for control;

Soon to be replaced by other cohabitants;

Slash and cut, open burn, defoliation;

The eradication of tomorrow's generation.

The ascent of man is a pathway;

Of distinction, following the lemmings,

A forward dash to the brink of ineptitude.

Survival of species does not depend only on the stronger,

But of resilience and fortitude of the weaker,

Who in defence adapt to preserve themselves and environment!

The towers in the sand crumble away,

By the lapping of the sea, persistent,

Unending, firstly at the base, foundation;

Finally at the peaks which sink,

To disappear into the greater

Deluge, left to make its own mark!

Dinosaurs! Prehistoric beasts, that roamed;

Indiscriminately self destructive.

Herds, preyed upon in carnivorous haste,

Fallen by improper and inadequate action.

Lumberous, cumbersome, inflexible;

A mirror image, irreplaceable.

How many times will the gardener weed out,

The undeserving creeping vine?

The possessive and aggressive presence,

Which chokes all other unsuspecting occupants,

Of an Eden now left, uncontrolled,

Wasted and beyond reason and control.

Club the surplus, innocent consumer;

Of fish stocks, already ravaged.

Balance the scales by taking away,

The lesser, not greater threat,

Of survivor, now reduced proportionately,

Ignoring self ignorance and malice.

Planning is focused on rapacity,

Replacing only that which falls free,

Of responsibility, hind sight at its pinnacle;

Historical, discounted, without affinity.

Environments mismanaged by the same rule,

Or lack thereof, of human integrity.

The explosions of pain ravage all bystanders;

Threaten a greater chaos, where chaos exists.

No ruler, the measure of fairness, only of graft.

Cosmic power cannot be harnessed,

Or directed, likewise violence remains,

Renegade, doppelganger, altruistic and catastrophic.

Political aims are not in humanity's interest.

Why should a place of habitation have priority?

For Nature herself provides for necessity,

Waiting, patiently, to refurbish her majesty.

Growth will return in propensity,

When closed minds no longer offer density.

There is a husbandry in Nature that exists,

By balancing of complex systems,

Where life can advance and assist,

The outcome of a future.

Look forward with trepidation,

Be aware of folly and be sensible!
