For every great actor who dies

I lose a part of my youth.

Film is memorable; it moulds character;

It makes a permanent impression.

Communication through the most dynamic;

Here every sketch is etched in permanent ink.

Reality is subverted by the celluloid giant;

It is beyond all other art form.

Those who admire the great painters

See only one image, feel no direct pain.

Twenty two frames per second with sound assault our senses;

It pricks each tangible and available channel.

Nerves are jilted and wrangled;

There is no blocking of awareness.

You cannot close your ears, or your eyes, not even your mind.

Tremors will flood your whole body.

What value is gained? What lesson is learned?

Who will be a positive mentor?

Who will be the malevolent force, the trigger for darkness?

How can you impede an assault that rapes all sensibilities?

There are those who are classic in approach;

The live stage has been uprooted and transposed.

There are those who dance with the camera;

They form a partnership for that interlude of familiarity.
