Heroes

Take a moment to remember our Heroes;

not only the small few who have fallen,

also the soldiers who fight to find the foe.

They carry the mission to build a new form of civilization.

We give two minutes of silence on one day once a year

To remember more than the few, where we add more names to a growing list.

How many millions will have waited for the memory of one?

Who is remembered in those one hundred and twenty seconds on eighty-four days?

Regiments remember their fallen.

Those who no longer hear Reveille.

In honour and high esteem the names are recorded;

Decorations and awards mark the insignia.

Peace comes at a human cost.

This is the price of sacrificial duty.

Salute to the lowered flag warriors all.

Bow your heads in solemnity non-combatants.

The world of so many mixed peoples

must find a common ground,

a common ideal on which to move forward

and to focus energy on wholesome growth.
